Pizza is a popular Italian food in Japan, and this time, I would like to introduce a pizza topped with a Japanese food "Mochi" or rice cake and flaked crab.
Rice cake stretches by heat like cheese does, and its chewy texture is somewhat similar to cheese. Crab meat seasoned with mayonnaise goes well with Mochi,too.
You can enjoy this unique pizza at the restaurant "Verre Bois" near JR Minami Otaru Station.
They also have several different pizzas and pasta menu. Salad pizza topped with fresh vegetables and dessert pizza topped with fruits can suit for vegetarians.
When you visit Minami Otaru area, Verre Bois is a good place for lunch or for taking a break.

There is a cross road in front of the main entrance of JR Minami Otaru Station. Cross the road in the direction of Sapporo. Go down the slope for a minute or two. You can see Verre Bois on your right.
Crispy pizza crust and chewy Mochi is a good combination.
They have nice and reasonable wine going well with pizzas and pastas.
Inside is nicely decorated with plants, since the restaurant runs a flower shop at the same time.
